Kelly, Coffee Win Seats on Potter Commission

H.R. Kelly and John Coffee are headed to the Potter County Commissioners’ Court.

On Tuesday night, voters in Precinct 1 gave incumbent H.R. Kelly the green light to serve another four years on the Potter County Commission. Kelly beat out challenger Ayvrie Dixon with 82 percent of the vote. Kelly will not face an opponent in the November election.

In Precinct 3, voters also picked their new commissioner to replace retiring incumbent Leon Church. John Coffee was tapped for the job by voters, winning 55 percent of the vote. Brian Moore came in second with 29 percent, followed by George Buchenau, Jr. at 11 percent, and Walter Gene Goodwin at 5 percent.

Both candidates will not face challengers in November.
