Former Texas Tech University head football coach Tommy Tuberville is officially the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Alabama.
On Tuesday night, Tuberville won the Republican primary runoff for U.S. Senate in Alabama, besting former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, 61 percent to 39 percent. Tuberville was endorsed by President Trump in his successful bid for the Senate nomination, which now propels him to meet Democrat U.S. Sen. Doug Jones in the November election.
Tuberville was head football coach at Texas Tech from 2010 until 2012.
