Why did you decide to run for this office in 2025?

Amarillo is home. It’s where I built my career, raised my family, and learned the value of hard work and responsibility.

I started my business the way a lot of people do—out of necessity. The company I worked for closed and I needed a way to feed my family. I began entrepreneurship like so many —struggling to make ends meet: mowing lawns in the evenings, trying to find business capital, and working on growing my small business. To this day, I’m grateful for the many people who took a chance on me along the way, and I’ll never forget the impact of one kind gesture.

Amarillo has been good to me. The people here have modeled grit, resilience, and figuring things out when there’s no easy answer. I’m running for City Council, because I believe we should all be ready to serve in our season. I’m ready to give back to Amarillo and serve the community I love.

Right now, Amarillo is facing real challenges—water treatment problems, infrastructure failures, and no long-term plan for economic or infrastructure growth. These aren’t issues you can talk your way out of. Our city needs leaders with knowledge, experience, and the willingness to take responsibility.

City Council is a volunteer job, but it shouldn’t come with volunteer-level experience. We have to put Amarillo first, fix our infrastructure problems and make sure Amarillo’s economy and workforce stays strong for the next generation.

If elected, what will be your top three priorities in office?

1. Improve Amarillo’s Infrastructure: Address critical needs in streets, roads, and the water treatment treatment plant to ensure our infrastructure supports growth and meets residents' needs.

2. Keep Taxes Low and Spend Wisely: Manage the city's budget with the prudence of a business, eliminating wasteful spending to ensure taxpayers receive value for their contributions.

3. Make Amarillo a Place Where Business Can Thrive: Foster a pro-business environment by cutting unnecessary regulations, supporting local enterprises, and attracting new investments to boost economic growth.

What is an issue you believe has gone overlooked in your race and how will you address it if elected?

Transparency. Too many decisions at City Hall are made behind closed doors, and taxpayers are left wondering where their money is going and who is really running the City. Meanwhile, roads are a mess, the water treatment plant is in dire need of attention, and we are wasting time focusing on things that don’t matter, instead providing the excellent customer service Amarillo citizens deserve.

If elected, I’ll get out of the way and let the City Manager and staff do their jobs. I will push for clear, open discussions and ensure taxpayers are informed and have a seat at the table.

What is your position on the issue of taxpayer-funded lobbying? Please explain.

I don’t believe taxpayers should foot the bill for lobbying efforts that often work against their own interests. The City should be focused on delivering core services—fixing roads, managing water infrastructure, keeping communities safe—not spending taxpayer money to influence legislation in Austin. That said, there could come a time when hiring a lobbyist would be necessary, and the City should be able to decide on a case-by-case basis.

Why are you the best candidate for voters to support for this position?

Amarillo deserves a strong leader with an even temperament, who can be present, and fight for low taxes, better roads, and a strong economy. I will bring experience, energy, work ethic, and ability to handle the demands of the job. I’m ready to do that, and I’d be honored to have your vote.

I am committed to:
Supporting Our Workforce – Amarillo’s greatest strength is its workers. We need to support skilled trades, apprenticeships, and real-world education that lead to good-paying jobs.

Improving Infrastructure – Patching potholes isn’t enough. We need real, long-term planning for roads, water systems, and public services before they become a crisis.

Wise Spending – The city should be run like a business: no waste, no reckless spending, and every tax dollar put to good use.

Supporting Public Safety – Safe neighborhoods aren’t negotiable. Amarillo must fully support law enforcement, firefighters, and first responders.

Promoting Transparency – Every major decision should be made in the open, with taxpayers fully informed. No more backroom deals.

I will always put Amarillo first. Our city should be a place where businesses can open, grow, and succeed without unnecessary hurdles.

I will serve the people of Amarillo. I’m running to represent the voters of Amarillo, not to answer to one person’s agenda. Leadership should be about doing what’s right for the city—not playing politics.
