Three people will be joining Texas' Film Hall of Fame during the 2017 Texas Film Awards.
Directors Jeff Nichols, Hector Galan, and actor Tye Sheridan will all be joining the Texas Film Hall of Fame during the 2017 awards. According to the Austin Film Society, Hall of Fame inductees "demonstrate Texans’ contributions to film and television and the state’s extensive film legacy."
An important thing to note about the inductees is that Galan will be the first documentary filmmaker to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, according to Variety. Galan has credits for films such as "The Hunt for Pancho Villa."
Nichols is well known for films such as "Take Shelter." Nichols' film, "Loving," is also a potential contender for awards, this year. Sheridan, who is known for "X-Men: Apocalypse," will be receiving the Hall of Fame's "Rising Star" award.
Honorees will receive their awards on March 9th, at the Texas Film Awards.
