Amarillo College will be receiving a Performance Quality Improvement Award, next month.
The award, which is given out by the Texas Workforce Commission, is in recognition of AC's Adult Education and Literacy Program. AC is also nominated in two other categories.
Nominees for the awards are adult education and literacy programs, throughout Texas, that have received grants from the Texas Workforce Commission.
“We’re a relatively new grantee,” said Dr. Tamara Clunis, dean of academic success at AC, through a press release. “To think that only two years after putting our grant into action we’re receiving statewide recognition is really exciting.”
First and second place award recipients will receive awards of $50,000 and $35,000, respectively.
The ceremony will be held on December 7th.
