Foreigner to Appear in Amarillo

A major rock band from decades past will be appearing at the Amarillo Civic Center.

Foreigner, the popular 1970's and 1980's rock band will be appearing at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex Auditorium on January 30th. Foreigner was made famous by songs such as "Waiting on a Girl Like You," "Feels Like the First Time," "Jukebox Hero," and "I Want to Know What Love Is." The group is considered to be one of the best selling bands of all time, with worldwide record sales of more than 80 million records. Foreigner can also be heard in collaborations with stars such as Ozzy Osbourne, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, and Van Halen.

The group, which is led by lead singer Mick Jones, has produced ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits, according to Foreigner's official website. Although Foreigner's music was recorded over 30 years ago, Foreigner is still connecting with younger crowds. In 2012, the band had three hits make the soundtrack to the smash-hit rock musical, "Rock of Ages." With these three hits, Foreigner gained the honor of having more songs appear on the soundtrack, than any other band. Foreigner's music has also been featured in recently popular films, such as, "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," "Magic Mike," and "Pitch Perfect."

The group has also recently performed on several late night talk shows, including "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," and "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

Tickets for the show go on sale on December 2nd. Pre-sale tickets are also available, using the presale code "love." Tickets are available through panhandletickets.com.
