Bush Moved from ICU

Former President George Bush has been moved out of intensive care.

The Texas Tribune reports that Bush is being moved out of the intensive care until at the Houston Methodist Hospital, while his wife, Barbara Bush, has been discharged from the hospital.

The couple was hospitalized, before President Donald Trump's inauguration, last week. Bush was the only former president unable to attend the inauguration, due to his health. Bush did send the then-President-elect a letter prior to the inauguration.

President Bush, who is currently 92-years-old, was admitted to the hospital last week for respiratory problems. Bush is reportedly recovering from bacterial pneumonia. Dr. Clint Doerr told the Texas Tribune that the President's x-rays continue to improve, but a release date has not been finalized.

Barbara Bush has been discharged from the hospital after recovering from viral bronchitis.

Doctors also said that while Mrs. Bush has been discharged from the hospital, she will return to her husband's side today.

Following the announcement of the Bushes' hospitalizations, the National Republican Senatorial Committee put out a Facebook post wishing "thoughts and prayers" for the couple.

We will update this story as information becomes available.
