Vista College to Close Campus

Vista College will be closing its Amarillo campus soon.

Vista College announced today through a press release that it intends to teach out current students and cease enrolling of new students at its Amarillo campus (3440 Bell). Vista College said in the press release that business conditions and low enrollment forced the teach out decision.

"Teaching out a campus is never an easy decision but, after continued attempts to keep the Amarillo campus operational, the teach-out decision was unavoidable," said Jim Tolbert, Vista College CEO.  "Overall, the financial health of Vista College is strong, and we remain in full compliance with all government regulations and accreditation requirements."

Vista College's staff plans to meet with each Vista College student at the Amarillo campus to determine their best option for moving forward. Active students who are in good academic standing will have the opportunity to complete their programs.

Several Vista College employees will continue working at the campus for up to a year. Vista College employees who are not retained during the teach out period or offered new assignments with Vista College will be eligible to receive transition assistance.

No other Vista College campus will be affected by the decision.
