The following Letter to the Editor was submitted by Joe White of Amarillo.
I am sick of taxes in Amarillo. Everywhere I look, we keep getting slapped with new taxes. We shot down the City Council's tax grab last year and it is time that we do it again this year to the school district.
AISD is doing a fine job. I am pleased with the level of education that our students have been getting, but I'm not pleased with the level of leadership our school board has shown. The school board has done a poor job in my opinion of managing our tax money and we should not give them more to squander.
That's why I am asking all of my fellow voters to turn down the [AISD bond proposition] election. If they can't get it right the first time, how can we expect them to now.
