Vice President Mike Pence will be headlining a fundraiser for Governor Greg Abbott, next month.
According to the Texas Tribune, Pence will headline a Washington, D.C. fundraiser for Abbott on November 13th. U.S. Senator Ted Cruz and John Cornyn are also listed on an official invitation as guests.
Tickets for the fundraiser are $1,000 per person or $50,000 per couple. The fundraiser will be held at the home of Boyden Gray, former U.S. ambassador to the European Union.
Abbott's move comes as the governor is gearing up for a re-election bid in 2018. Currently, Abbott is facing a single primary opponent in Larry SECEDE Kilgore, a secession activist. Hospice owner Tom Wakely, businessman Jeffrey Payne and former Balch Springs mayor Cedric Davis are also running on the Democratic side.
Houston businessman Andrew White and U.S. Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-San Antonio) are also being named as potential Democratic candidates, although neither has formally announced a campaign.
