APD Captures 'Fugitive of the Week'

The Amarillo Police Department has captured its "fugitive of the week."

According to APD, William Alexander Mchugh was brought into custody on Friday night. APD reports that officers received information that Mchugh was with a female at a home in the 3700 block of Torre Drive. Officers were dispatched around 11am on Friday to the location and were unable to make contact.

APD PACE units developed information on Mchugh and a wanted female contributing to his whereabouts being at the same home on Torre Drive. Officers made contact with Kammie Westbrook, 22, who was known to be wanted for a bond forfeiture warrant for Possession of Marijuana and a Probation Violation warrant for Child Neglect. Westbrook refused to cooperate with PACE and ran to an upstairs room, blocking the door. It was determined that Westbrook jumped from a second story window from the location and was found in a dumpster.

Westbrook was arrested for warrants and evading arrest.

McHugh was found in a nearby dumpster and was taken into custody for his outstanding warrant. McHugh was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both suspects were booked into the Randall County Detention Center.
