Voters in Potter and Randall Counties voted in favor of propositions making changes to current laws in the rural parts of both counties.
On Tuesday night, Potter County voters approved the creation of a special sales tax to fund fire department and safety improvements. Residents around the county can now expect to pay about two cents more per dollar spent in sales taxes.
Potter County voters approved that measure, 63 percent to 37 percent.
Also in Randall County, voters voted to approve the sale of alcohol for off-premise consumption in justice of the peace precinct one. Voters approved the measure, 62 percent to 38 percent, with about 1,200 votes cast.
