AISD Considering Deal with Underwood Law Firm

Amarillo Independent School District is considering signing a letter with Underwood Law Firm for continued legal services.

According to an agenda posted for Monday night's meeting of the AISD board of trustees, trustees will consider approving deals with three law firms for legal services. Walsh Gallegos Law Firm, Haglund Law Firm, P.C. and Underwood Law Firm are all being considered for approval on Monday night.

Underwood Law Firm is an Amarillo-based law firm specializing in several practices. As we have previously reported, Underwood Law Firm has done business with several local entities and has ties to many of the governmental bodies in Amarillo.

If approved, AISD will have a contract with Underwood for continued legal services. AISD currently has a similar contract with Underwood Law Firm.

Also on Monday night, the board will consider approving the issuance of bonds and will hear reports on the purchase of the former Hastings Entertainment warehouse near Sunset Center.

The meeting will be held on Monday, December 18th at the AISD Education Support Center (7200 Interstate 40 West). The meeting begins at 6pm.
