Primary Voters to Decide Three Precinct Chair Races

Three races for precinct chair positions will be decided by primary voters on March 6th.

In Potter County, Republicans will decide the race for an open precinct chair spot in precinct 125. In precinct 125, incumbent Sharlene Taylor is not seeking re-election, according to the Texas Secretary of State's office. Misty Gayle Walker and David Martinez are running in the primary election to hold the spot.

For Randall County voters, each Republican race for precinct chair positions are uncontested. Meanwhile, Randall Democrats have two spots to decide. Randall's precinct 111 will be seeing a contested bid as challenger Sandra De La Rosa is running to unseat incumbent Josie Vongkhampra. Randall Democrats will also decide a race in precinct 418 as incumbent Beth Edmondson has drawn two challengers - Cindy "Zuri" Ferraresi and Michael Pelfrey.

Precinct chairs serve on each county party's executive committee and help organize fundraisers, primary elections and voter drive efforts.

In addition to the precinct chair races, two county chair races will be contested. In Potter County, Democratic chair Gentry Powell is facing a challenge from Potter-Randall Democratic Club vice president Steve Land. In Randall County, incumbent Republican chair Terry Harman will be facing realtor Jinger White.

All of these positions will be decided in the March 6th primary unless a runoff is necessary.
