The City of Amarillo has denied the food permit appeal of a local health food establishment.
The appeal from West Texas Rx came following the denial of the establishment's food permit renewal. The establishment's food permit was denied because the establishment's sink only had two compartments instead of three.
City Council members voted last night to uphold the health department's denial for permit renewal, by a 3-1 vote. Councilmember Randy Burkett was the sole vote against.
The restaurant's permit was previously approved in 2012 and had been approved for five years.
