Local State Reps. Back Railroad Commission Bill

State Representatives Four Price and John Smithee both voted for HB 1818, today.

HB 1818 is a bill that relates to the continuation of the Texas Railroad Commission. The bill involves the fees regulated by the commission and provides some amendments regarding the Commission's authority.

Price and Smithee joined the majority in voting for the bill's passage. The bill, authored by Rep. Larry Gonzales (R-Round Rock), received 94 yea votes. 48 legislators voted against the bill. Representative Ken King, who also represents a nearby Texas House district voted in favor of the bill, as well.

In other actions, today, the Texas House of Representatives voted unanimously to approve HB 377. HB 377 relates to the issuance of specialty license plates for surviving spouses of certain military veterans.
