"The results of the APD Quality of Service Survey have been released. Chief Ed Drain mandated this survey as one of four performance measures established for the Department beginning in 2017.
The other performance measures include crime rate, traffic safety, and response times. This is the first of what will be a yearly survey. The results serve as a baseline from which to measure quality of service and to enable feedback from citizens. The survey was provided online, and was also available in a paper form, distributed with a stamped envelope anyone who requested it.
In addition, the Department secured the assistance of the City of Amarillo Library by making the survey accessible on library computers.
The survey was promoted through the news media and APD social media, along with the city web site. The survey was taken by 1134 participants. To see the results of the survey, go to the APD web site, http://police.amarillo.gov/."
