According to White House officials, Texas Senator John Cornyn is on the shortlist to replace outgoing FBI Director James Comey.
Following Comey's removal from the office of FBI Director, the White House has been seeking a replacement. Fox News confirmed a shortlist of candidates that could replace Comey. Joining Cornyn on the list is Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Executive Assistant Director Paul Abbate, National Counterintelligence and Security Center director William Evanina, former New York Police Chief Ray Kelly, Representative Mike Rogers, Representative Trey Gowdy, former Assistant Attorney General Alicia Fisher, New York Prosecutor Mike Garcia, Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers, Judge Michael Luttig, and former Deputy Attorney General Larry Thompson.
McCabe is currently leading the Federal Bureau of Investigation until a replacement is approved.
