City Asks Tire Businesses to Register to Prevent Mosquitoes

The City of Amarillo is asking residents to register tire businesses to avoid mosquitoes.

The City of Amarillo issued a plea to the public today asking tire businesses to register to help lower the amount of mosquito breeding grounds. The City currently has a scrap tire ordinance in place that deals with scrap tires. The ordinance aims to cut down on the amount of scrap tires in the area, and in turn, cut down on the amount of mosquito breeding grounds.

According to the City of Amarillo, 50 local tires businesses are already registered.
