U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R-Austin) reported today that one of his congressional staff members was shot during an incident in Alexandria, Virginia.
Following a shooting at a Congressional baseball practice session today, Williams made the announcement on Twitter that his staffer, Zack Barth, was shot. Barth was one of several injured in the shooting, including Congressman Steve Scalise (R-Louisiana). Two capitol police officers were also shot during the incident.
Officials later identified the shooter as James Hodgkinson, according to the Texas Tribune.
Following the incident, Williams tweeted, "Please keep the member of my staff and all members of the congressional baseball team in your thoughts and prayers."
