Dr. Bradley Johnson has been named the vice president of strategic relations at West Texas A&M University.
Dr. Walter V. Wendler, president of WTAMU, announced today that Johnson will become the vice president of strategic relations for the school. Johnson comes to WTAMU after serving as president of Northeast Texas Community College since 2008.
The role of vice president of strategic relations is a new position for WTAMU that will develop strategic initiatives, set goals, accomplish tasks and evaluate the impact of each initiative. The vice president of strategic relations will also build relationships for stakeholders and will focus on transfer and non-traditional students.
Johnson is a WTAMU alumnus, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1981 and a M.Ed. in counseling in 1984. He received a M.Ed. in higher education from Texas Tech University in 1999 and an Ed.D. in educational studies from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, in 2004.
Johnson began his education career at Amarillo College in 1994 and served in a variety of positions there.
