West Texas A&M to Honor Intern of the Year

"The Office of Career Services at West Texas A&M University is accepting nominations for WT Intern of the Year. Nominations will be accepted through Sunday, Oct. 1 and the winning student will be honored at a special reception later in the semester.

The WT Intern of the Year award honors an outstanding student who has participated in an internship and exhibited superior skills and/or made a significant contribution to their employer. Candidates must be of junior, senior or graduate student standing and have participated in an internship between Sept. 1, 2016 and Aug. 31, 2017.

“Our students do such amazing work through their internship experiences that we want to honor them with this award,” Steve Sellars, coordinator in Career Services, said. “We hope the WT Intern of the Year award highlights the value of an internship experience and motivates other students to intern.”

The winning intern will receive a cash award of $750 courtesy of Phillips 66, and he/she will automatically be submitted for the National Cooperative Education and Internship Association Academic Intern of the Year award.

Employers of WTAMU interns are asked to encourage their outstanding interns to complete the WT Intern of the Year nomination process. Nomination packets can be found at wtamu.edu/intern. For more information, contact Steve Sellars at 806-651-2345 or ssellars@wtamu.edu."
