The Amarillo High School Sandies were defeated by the Odessa Broncos.
In the Sandies' second game of the 2017 high school football season, the Broncos pushed hard against the AHS team. Odessa was pushing for its second win of the 2017 season, versus the Sandies who were still in the hunt for a victory.
Amarillo High got off to an early lead in the first quarter, pulling in 7 points to shutout the Broncos. Odessa then fired back with 14 points in the second quarter and put up another 14 in the third quarter to seal the fate of Amarillo High.
Last night's loss means that Amarillo High is starting the season 0-2 for the first time since the 2002 Amarillo High season.
Amarillo High's next game will be against the Tascosa Rebels on September 22nd.
