Senator Ted Cruz is holding a narrow lead in a new U.S. Senate poll released on Wednesday.
In the new poll conducted by End Citizens United, shows Cruz leading Democrat Beto O'Rourke by single digits, 45 percent to 37 percent. The numbers from End Citizens United comes following the release of internal polling from the Cruz camp, showing the junior U.S. Senator leading O'Rourke by a margin of 52 percent to 34 percent.
Following the release of the poll numbers, O'Rourke's campaign manager, Jody Casey, issued a statement saying that the campaign is seeing its work paying off.
"This is a major moment for our campaign -- tremendous proof of all the hard work we've been putting in together since we kicked off last year," Casey said.
The winners of the Republican and Democratic nominations will meet in the general election on November 6th to decide the next U.S. Senator for Texas.
