Green to Sell Sod Poodle Shirts, Donate Profits

Dusty Green will be using the Amarillo Sod Poodles trademark, but in a way possible nobody expected.

Green, a local media personality, made headlines earlier this year after it was discovered a company he owns trademarked the “Amarillo Sod Poodles” name. However, the name was also selected by Amarillo Professional Baseball as the name for the new team to play at the downtown ballpark.

Amidst the questions on the future of the trademark, Green held a press conference on Thursday night, announcing that he will manufacture shirts with the Amarillo Sod Poodles trademark, with plans to donate profits to charities in the Texas Panhandle. Green said all of the profits raised will be given back to the community by way of charity, and he clarified that he will receive no profits from the sale of the shirts.

“We, I, are in no way interested in profiting from the name Sod Poodles,” Green said. “…Any money we generate from the name Sod Poodles is going to go back to our community.”

The shirts can be purchased through the Our Amarillo Sod Poodles Facebook site.
