Realignment Shrinks Tascosa Football Division

The division that includes Tascosa High School's football and basketball teams just got smaller following a realignment by the University Interscholastic League on Thursday.

On Thursday, UIL announced realignment of its divisions, shrinking the Tascosa division. In the realignment, the division lost San Angelo Central to a metroplex division, shrinking the division from seven teams to six. Every other team in the division retained its place.

As part of the new realignment, the Region 1, District 2 division now includes: Tascosa, Midland, Midland Lee, Odessa, Odessa Permian, and Wolfforth Frenship.

Most other Amarillo teams retained their place during realignment. The only major change coming to Amarillo team is for Amarillo Highland Park. The school was dropped from 3A down to 2A. 2A's Region 1, Division 1, which now includes Highland Park, also includes Boys Ranch, Panhandle, Sanford-Fritch, Stinnett, West Texas and Sunray.
