Southeast 27th to Close for Bridge Construction

Southeast 27th Avenue will be closed, beginning on Monday, to allow for bridge construction.

According to the City of Amarillo, BNSF Railway in Amarillo will close Southeast 27th Avenue in Amarillo on Monday to allow for bridge construction. The area of 27th Avenue between Buchanan and Grand Streets will be closed to through traffic between Interstate 27 and Arthur Street.

Eastbound drivers will be detoured to south to 34th Avenue and north on Arthur Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured at Arthur then south to 34th Avenue.

Road work is expected to be completed for this project on Wednesday, May 19th.
