Dog Found in Dumpster Recovering, Nearing Adoption

A dog that was found inside of a dumpster in Amarillo is now recovering and will soon be ready for adoption, officials say.

On Thursday, the Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare department announced that Tumbler is recovering and will soon be ready for adoption. Tumbler was found earlier this month inside of a dumpster, where he was crushed with the trash before being saved by Animal Management officials.

There has been no date set yet for when Tumbler will officially become ready for adoption.

In the meantime, residents are encouraged to visit the Amarillo Animal Shelter and check out the other dogs and cats that are awaiting adoption. Hundreds of furry friends are waiting for you to become their forever home.
