Candidates running for various offices in the March 6th Republican primary election gathered on Tuesday night at Amarillo National Bank's Plaza One to talk to voters about issues facing the community.
On Tuesday, around 40 candidates seeking various statewide and local offices gathered on the 16th floor of the Plaza One building to talk issues with voters. Dr. Davey Edwards, candidate for Land Commissioner, was the only statewide candidate on hand, while representatives were in attendance for Lieutenant Governor challenger Scott Milder and incumbent Governor Greg Abbott.
Most candidates held a booth at the event. Other candidates, such as Congressman Mac Thornberry (R-Clarendon), were not in attendance but had representatives on hand.
Organizers say that this event saw about double the amount of candidates attend versus the 2016 event that was held.
