"The Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will host a community meeting to discuss Amarillo’s 2019-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) on Thursday, Feb. 15 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the downtown Amarillo Public Library, 413 S.E. 4th Ave. The TIP contains four years of federally funded and regionally significant non-federally funded projects with cost estimates and funding sources.
The TIP is in development to guide future implementation of transportation projects identified in the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP). Both the TIP and MTP are financially constrained planning documents which require projects within the MPO’s boundaries to be eligible for federal funding. The streetscaping along Buchanan Street is a previous project funded by the TIP with a future project planned to move the southwest quadrant of Loop 335 to Helium Road.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit comments to assist in the development of the TIP to amarillompo@amarillo.gov or (806) 378-6293. Copies of the current draft documents are available for review in room 237 of the Simms Municipal Building, 808 S. Buchanan."
