A municipal board is considering allowing property owners to renovate a home in the historic Wolflin neighborhood of Amarillo.
On Thursday, the Amarillo Landmarks and Historic Board will be considering allowing a renovation of a home's facade at 3205 South Hughes Street in the historic Wolflin neighborhood. Board members will be considering allowing applicants Andrew and Rhonda Green to complete a partial renovation on the west facade of the structure.
Documents provided for the meeting's agenda show that the structure, in question, was built in 1936 by architect Frank W. Jesse, who is responsible for several of the homes in the historic neighborhood. The structure was built for Dr. R. P. Black, and was occupied by J.E. Stemp by 1945.
If approved, the board will decide that the renovation falls within the board's mission to "preserve, protect, and enhance historically significant sites that contribute to Amarillo's historic culture."
The meeting will be held on Thursday, March 22nd in Room 203 of the Simms Municipal Building (808 South Buchanan). The meeting begins at 5:30pm.
