James Allen, community development director for the City of Amarillo, has resigned.
Sources at the City of Amarillo confirmed to the Amarillo Pioneer today that Allen, the long-time director of the City's Community Development Department, has resigned. Allen, who has served as community development director for the City of Amarillo since 2011, oversaw the department of the City responsible for some development programs in north and east Amarillo. In addition, Allen is a member of the Amarillo Independent School District Board of Trustees.
This story is late-breaking and a spokesperson for the City of Amarillo has not yet returned our request for comment. The Amarillo Pioneer was also unable to reach Allen on Friday afternoon.
