An Amarillo restaurant is currently waging a battle to win the honor of the best Mexican food restaurant in Texas.
El Manantial is currently in the running for the top Mexican restaurant prize from USA Today. The Amarillo restaurant, located at 3823 Amarillo Boulevard East, is competing against a selection of Mexican restaurants across Texas, including establishments in Houston, Dallas, Austin and other major Texas cities.
At press time, El Manantial was running fifth in the leaderboard race for the top honor, trailing L&J Cafe (El Paso), Matt's El Rancho (Austin), Joe T. Garcia's Mexican Restaurant (Fort Worth), and Valentina's Tex Mex BBQ (Austin).
