The Democratic turnout in Randall County for the upcoming May 22nd runoff has been holding steady over the first two days of early voting.
According to the Randall County Elections Administration office, thirteen Randall County Democrats cast ballots during the second day of early voting in the county. That number is down from the fourteen who cast ballots on the first day of early voting. In addition, 216 mail-in ballots have been received in the Randall County race, out of the 384 that have been sent.
Randall County Democrats are voting in a single statewide contest: the Party's race for governor. Democrats statewide are choosing their nominee from a field that has been narrowed down to former Dallas sheriff Lupe Valdez and Houston businessman Andrew White. The winner of that primary will join the top of the Democratic tickets and will race Republican incumbent Greg Abbott and Libertarian Mark Tippetts in November.
Randall County Democrats have until Friday to cast early ballots. Election Day is Tuesday, May 22nd.
