Two Amarillo attorneys are squaring off in the Republican runoff to become the next judge for Potter County Court at Law #1.

On Tuesday, Republican voters will choose between Len Walker and Walt Weaver in the race for Potter County Court at Law #1. The winner of this primary runoff will likely not face an opponent in November and will succeed the retiring Judge W.F. "Corky" Roberts.

Walker is an Amarillo attorney with decades of experience as a prosecutor and private lawyer. Walker currently has an office on the historic Route 66 and has represented clients in both civil and criminal cases, including misdemeanor and felony cases. Walker holds degrees from West Texas A&M University and the University of Tulsa. Walker is also a graduate of the US Navy Advanced Poseidon Program. Walker received 39 percent in the March 6th primary election.

Weaver is also an Amarillo attorney with experience as a prosecutor and in private practice. Weaver has experience in most every court in the area and has earned numerous endorsements from regional prosecutors and attorneys. Weaver has an office in downtown Amarillo and holds degrees from Texas Tech University and the University of New Mexico. Weaver received 48 percent in the March 6th primary election.
