Sirmon Wins GOP Nod for 320th District Judge

Pamela Cook Sirmon triumphed on Tuesday night in her bid to become the next judge of the 320th District Court.

Sirmon, the current Potter County Court at Law #2 judge, won her Republican runoff on Tuesday night, defeating criminal defense attorney and volunteer firefighter Steven Michael Denny, 58 percent to 42 percent. Unofficial tallies Tuesday night had Sirmon beating Denny in mail-in ballots, early votes and election day votes.

Following the announcement of Sirmon's victory, the judge issued a statement, congratulating Steven Denny and thanking voters in Potter County for electing her.

"I am truly humbled and honored to have been elected to serve as the 320th District Court Judge," Sirmon said. "Steven Denny ran a great campaign. I wish him the best and offer my thanks for his heart to serve our community."

Sirmon is expected to run unopposed in November and will replace the retiring Judge Don Emerson.
