It is a tradition of our Nation, as it is a tradition of most nations, to pay homage to those who have fallen in defense of our land, our people, and our principles. These men and women honor America by their sacrifice. It is for America to honor them by its devotion to those purposes for which they perished.

Memorial Day is often thought of as a time for barbecuing and summer. However, the holiday has a much deeper meaning, that we should all recognize. On this day, we are encouraged to honor the sacrifices of those who gave everything to defend freedoms.
While this is just a single day, we should all be encouraged to live every day like Memorial Day, honoring the sacrifices of those who lost their lives defending us.
So, please enjoy Memorial Day and remember the sacrifices of those who risked everything.
