Amarillo Pioneer Launches 'State of Government' Survey

The Amarillo Pioneer is launching a brand new survey to find out how you feel about your local and state government.

On Thursday, the Amarillo Pioneer launched the first annual "State of Government" survey in Amarillo. The survey, which is planned to become a yearly event, is set to measure readers' views and opinions on local and state government. Additionally, as the Pioneer has just wrapped up the first November election survey of the year, the Pioneer will measure viewpoints and opinions on the next upcoming election - Amarillo's 2019 mayoral and school board elections.

Amarillo Pioneer editor Thomas Warren, III said that the new survey will help the Pioneer better communicate the opinions of readers on the state of government locally.

"Amarilloans have been very vocal about government statewide and locally," Warren said. "This new survey will allow us to communicate the people's opinions on a much larger scale."

Readers participating in the survey will be asked to communicate their views on state government, local government and school boards in Amarillo. Among elected officials discussed in the survey are Governor Greg Abbott, Senator Ted Cruz, Mayor Ginger Nelson and others.

Responses to the survey will be solicited through Sunday, July 8th. Results will be announced on Monday, July 9th.
