Governor Greg Abbott reported major fundraising for his campaign through mid-2018.
According to reports filed with the Texas Ethics Commission, Abbott reported raising big from February through June 30th, bringing in $10,949,928.45 for his campaign. The incumbent Republican reported a little over $22 million in expenditures during this same time, leaving him with about $29 million in the bank.
Meanwhile, Democrat Lupe Valdez reported steady fundraising from May through June 30th. Valdez reported pulling in $335,765.22 during the period, while spending $208,670.83. Valdez finished June with $222,050.50 on hand and about $30,000 in outstanding loans.
Finally, Libertarian candidate Mark Tippetts reported bringing in $14,943.50 for his campaign from January 1st through June 30th. Tippetts also reported spending $13,737.06 during this time, leaving him a little less than $2,700 on hand.
Voters will decide this race in November.
