Hall Retires as Amarillo Firefighter, Will Serve at City of Amarillo

Wes Hall has retired from the Amarillo Fire Department, with plans to take a key management position at the City of Amarillo.

According to the Amarillo Fire Department, Wes Hall has announced his retirement as District Chief from the Amarillo Fire Department. Hall has served Amarillo for twenty years as a firefighter and will now serve the Amarillo community as the Risk Management Director for the City of Amarillo.

Meanwhile, the Amarillo Fire Department has announced a series of promotions. Captain Dana Havlick was promoted to the role of District Chief of Training. 

Lieutenant Dustin Howell was promoted to the rank of captain and is assigned to the firefighter Personal Protective Equipment program.

Driver Mitch Armstrong, of the PPE program, will remain with the program as a Lieutenant.

Finally, Zach Butt was promoted to the role of Driver and will serve with the AFD Health and Safety Program.

All retirements and promotions took place in June of 2018.
