The Amarillo Association of REALTORS will be backing the incumbent City Council for re-election this year.
Last week, the REALTORS group made the announcement, saying they will be supporting Mayor Ginger Nelson and Councilmembers Elaine Hays, Freda Powell, Eddy Sauer, and Howard Smith for re-election. All five candidates also received some type of support from the Amarillo Association of REALTORS during their first runs in 2017.
These endorsements are notable, due to the fact that the group chose not to interview several challengers this year. This also marks the first time since 2015 that the Amarillo Association of REALTORS has not backed any newcomers for the Amarillo City Council.
Voters will decide each of these races on May 4th.
