Amarillo Authorities Find Stolen Property, Guns, Meth in Investigation

Local authorities recently executed a search warrant in connection with an investigation into stolen property.

On February 28th, a trailer loaded with over $5,000 in appliances was stolen from the parking lot at Westgate Mall. Authorities, after reviewing security footage, recognized the vehicle as one that had recently been reported stolen and recovered two days earlier.

On March 7th, surveillance was conducted at a residence in the 100 block of South Bowyer, where a trailer and the Jeep from the mall video were observed in the driveway. Investigators drafted a search warrant for the residence to determine if the appliances were inside. SWAT officers arrived and cleared the house, then authorities conducted a search of the property, finding stolen property from a December 30, 2018 theft at Amarillo Construction, along with two shotguns and methamphetamine.

The recovered property was valued at around $5,400 and the trailer was valued around $3,000. This investigation is ongoing. One suspect was booked into the Potter County Jail on a controlled substance charge.
