The traditional school year may be complete, but summer school sessions in Amarillo begin Wednesday (May 29). And the start of summer school means school zones are active.
As a reminder to motorists, the City of Amarillo’s Traffic Engineering Division is reminding drivers that school zones ARE active at campuses with summer school programs – and active flashing lights will alert motorists to school zones.
School zones will be active at the following campuses (campuses are elementary schools unless otherwise noted):
Austin Middle School; Avondale; Bivins; Bowie Middle School; Caprock High School; Carver; Eastridge; Emerson; Forest Hill; Glenwood; Hamlet; Houston Middle School; Humphrey’s Highland; Lamar; Landergin; Lawndale; Lee; Mann Middle School; Margaret Wills; Mesa Verde; Oakdale; Palo Duro High School; Pleasant Valley; Puckett; Sanborn; South Georgia; Southlawn; Sunrise; Tascosa High School; Travis Middle School; Western Plateau; Whittier; Will Rogers; Wolflin; Woodlands/de Zavala.
