'Vote Yes' Committee Donates to AC Foundation

The Amarillo College Foundation has received a contribution from a political action committee involved in the May 4th elections in Amarillo.

According to a filing with the Texas Ethics Commission, Vote Yes for Amarillo College, the committee which was responsible for the majority of the pro-AC bond advertising in the 2019 Amarillo municipal election cycle, donated the remaining dollars in its campaign account to the AC Foundation. In total, the report declares a contribution of $5,089.80 to the foundation.

Also, in the report, treasurer Samuel B. Lovelady indicated that the group does not “expect the occurrence of any further reportable activity by this political committee for this or any other campaign or election for which reporting under the Election Code is required.”

Voters passed the $89 million Amarillo College bond proposal by a margin of roughly 53 percent in favor and 47 percent against.
