The City of Amarillo hosted a summit on homelessness on Thursday at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts.
According to the City of Amarillo, Mayor Ginger Nelson spoke at the event, welcoming speaker Dr. Sam Tsemberis. Tsemberis, a clinical psychologist from Los Angeles who is credited with developing the “Housing First” model, also provided his expertise on related issues.
In a statement after the event, Nelson thanked Juliana Kitten, Amarillo Community Development Director, for her work on the program.
“A heartfelt thank you to Juliana Kitten…and her team for organizing this outstanding summit and providing critical information that will move our city forward,” Nelson said.
