On Tuesday, Governor Greg Abbott’s office announced the awarding of fifteen grants, which are all administered by the Texas Workforce Investment Council in the Governor’s Economic Development and Tourism Division. The grants are meant to support education, workforce training, increased wages, and improved job retention.
According to the Governor’s Office, Alvin Community College, American Youthworks, Central Texas College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide, Goodwill Industries of Central Texas, Houston Capital Investing, Mission Economic Development Corporation, Skill Point Alliance, Texas Southmost College, Texas Tech University, The Arc of the Capital Area, Volunteers of America, Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County, and Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas all received a grant through the program.
