Water bills in Canyon may be higher this month than compared to the previous month.
According to the City of Canyon, the City switched to a new billing software in July, which sent a bill based on three weeks of water usage rather than the typical four weeks. The new bill sent out to customers will now include five weeks for August, which combines the four most recent weeks, plus the week that was not counted on the previous bill. City officials believe this change will cause most water bills to be higher this month, while also saying no bills were estimated to averaged during the billing cycle.
Bills are expected to return to their normal four week billing cycle in September.
