Incoming U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Amarillo) says he will contest the Electoral College’s results when Congress counts the votes on January 6.

Jackson, who will be taking office days before as the new representative for the Texas Panhandle, made the announcement on social media. Several congressional representatives, including Jackson, have signaled their willingness to challenge the results showing Democrat Joe Biden was the winner of the presidential election.

“I will vote on January 6th to CHALLENGE the Electoral College because the American people deserve a FREE and FAIR election,” Jackson tweeted. “The FRAUD that DID take place on Election Day can’t be allowed to stand!”

U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Missouri) has also announced that he will sign on to the challenge on Wednesday, ensuring there will be some debate over the certification of the results in at least the state of Pennsylvania.
