Students at West Texas A&M University have new opportunity to sustain their learning experience while supporting themselves.
WT has created a scholarship this semester designed to assist students who want to pursue research experience or internships that may be unpaid or underpaid. Called the President’s Earn and Learn Scholarship Program, the program will begin this summer. The deadline to apply is March 31.
Scholarships are awarded competitively by a selection committee that will assess the opportunity in key areas. Some of these include, but are not limited to, how the internship relates to categories in WT’s generational plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World, such as community life, education in rural settings, agriculture and healthcare. Other factors will be financial need and internships in the Texas Panhandle.
Awarded amount will vary based on student need but will not exceed $3,000. To view the full criteria or detailed information about WT125, visit wtamu.edu.
