West Texas A&M University’s nursing program has earned another top national ranking.

The online RN to BSN program, which helps nurses take the next step in their nursing career by advancing from a registered nurse degree to a bachelor of science in nursing, ranked No. 3 in College Choice’s recently released Top 10 list, landing behind only Ohio State University and the University of Arkansas.

Other schools on the list include University of Florida, Arizona State University, University of Texas at Tyler and more.

WT’s overall online bachelor of nursing program also was recently named one of the 10 best in the country.

“These rankings reflect how committed we are to meeting our students’ educational needs as they work to better their careers,” said Dr. J. Dirk Nelson, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. “We are proud to offer flexible scheduling and affordable tuition so that nurses can move into leadership positions, secure higher salaries and find other opportunities for career advancement while still working in the field.”

College Choice’s rankings are based on program accreditation, national reputation, tuition costs and early career earnings of graduates.

This is only the most recent honor in a series of accolades for the University. WT’s online program is ranked among the most affordable and best values in the state. The University was ranked among the Top 10 safest campuses in the country and the safest in Texas, and the University Police Department was, for a second time, named a Recognized Law Enforcement Agency from the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation.

Such accolades are indicators that WT feels quality is the cornerstone of its educational offerings, a key component of its generational plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.
